On Tues night the 27th of September, 2016 our u12 girls played the quarter final of the East Cork championship against Lisgoold. It was a great game of football with great skill shown from both teams. Bride Rovers girls pulled out all the stops and won the game 5-3 to 4-4.
Well done and well deserved.

On Saturday our u12 girls headed to Mayfield to play in the County Final against Bishopstown. We took our full panel of 27 girls to this match, all having taken part in matches leading up to this final.
The conditions were good but the performance and determination was even better. Both Bride Rovers and Bishopstown played their hearts out and left everything on the pitch. Bishopstown got the better start and got the opening score. It was only a few minutes later and Rovers were on the score board with a great point from Lily. Both defences were on their game and scores were hard earned.
Our forwards were passing well through Kate, Mollie and Megan which lead to a great goal from Caoimhe Barry Bishopstown were on the attack also and replied in the first half with another goal and point.
The Rovers attack started deep in our strong defence from Ava through to Niamh and Abbie H with another great run from Leah to score our second goal. Lily added to the score with another point and we finished the first half ahead 2-2 to 1-2.
We made some changes in the second half bringing in Ciara, Ruby B and Nicky and this helped us to change our attack with Megan playing as our third defence. Our goalie Cliona was on her toes and had a some great save. Captain Naoise, Vice Captain Niamh, Michelle and Abby K were solid in defence and gave the team a great platform for our forwards to add 5 more points from Caoimhe G, Ruby H and Lily with the Rovers winning out an outstanding Final on a score 2-7 to 1-6.
Well done girls and mentors Pat Barry, Terry Broderick and Mark O Connell. Panel was Cliona E, Ava B, Naoise McC(Captain), Michelle G, Abbie H, Abby K, Niamh O S(Vice Captain), Lilly M 0-4, Leah H 1-0, Ruby H 0-2, Caoimhe G 0-1, Megan B, Mollie O C, Kate L, Caoimhe B 1-0, Ciara M, Ruby B, Nicky P, Rachel W, Sarah B, Abbie O C, Oonagh N, Aoife McC, Ella B, Mai C, Roisin C, Ellen D.
We are all so proud of each and every one of ye. Thanks to all the parents and supporters. Our next match is a semi final of the east cork championship against Cobh date tbc.

Seniors lose out to Fermoy
On tuesday week last our senior footballers were defeated by Fermoy in the final of the Senior B Championship played under lights in Castlelyons.
The Rovers started well and led 1-03 to 0-1 after 10minutes. Fermoy fought back to draw level but the Rovers were in front again by half time 1-8 to 1-06.
Into the second half & the Rovers were playing great football. Goals from Grace Culloty & Colette Hogan extended our lead and some fantastic points from Katie Quirke had the Rovers in front by 3-14 to 1-11 with 10 minutes remaining. However Fermoy fought back scoring 2-03 without reply to force the game into extra time.
In extra time Fermoy outscored the Rovers by 0-06 to 0-03 to win on a scoreline of 3-20 to 3-17.
