U10A
Our u10a team made it in to the A east cork final held in Watergrasshill last Saturday, they played the hosting team, Glanmire had the lead at half time by just a point, and knew it would be a tough job to hold it, after some fine play by both team it was eventually the Watergrasshill side who got to take the trophy home. Congrats to Watergrasshill. Thanks to Neil Walsh who headed up the u10A team this year with the help of PIo Tracey and John Mc Carthy.

U10B

Last Saturday our u10b team played in the D Final of the u10 East Cork league final against Lisgoold u10.This was amazing achievement for this young team as it consists mainly of our u9 players who gained valuable experience and game time.
Lisgoold took the match from the off and really put us under pressure but against the run of play our outstanding Lucy Lynch powered the ball into the Lisgoold net. Short lived as Lisgoold began to take control winning all the 50/50 situations and converting their scoring opportunities when they came there way to give themselves a half time lead 4-3 to 1-2
Second half saw Glanmire girls up their game and began to play more as a unit and had majority of the play but Lisgoold backs held firm and when chances came their way in the second half took them well preventing any real chance of a comeback. With time running out it gave Glanmire a chance to empty their bench allowing all girls sample playing time in this final.Playing well for Glanmire were Ashling Desmond,Eimer o Callaghan and Lucy Lynch.
Well Done to Lisgoold, impressive winners. Also big thank you to Watergrasshill for hosting all the Finals.
To all the Glanmire u10b girls,ye were brilliant throughout the season and a credit to all. Well Done. Finally to the coaches,Ger Scannell,Kevin Canny,Kevin Humpreys,Donal Mulkerrins,Pio Treacy and Kevin Walsh a big thank you for your commitment and efforts in everything you did in benefiting the girls and Glanmire ladies football Club.

Minor

Glanmire ladies are full steam ahead at the moment with minor and county competition still up for grabs. We had a tough outing against Bride Rovers in the minor but managed to come out winners by 5 points which qualifies us to play county Minor A for the first time and are drawn against the winners of Carrigaline v Douglas We had 2 useful challenges as well last week against Bishopstown and Watergrasshill and some very good performances particularly from Ciara Young , it is also good to see Ellen Murphy and Siofra Deane return after camogie and injury ties.

Congrats to the Cork seniors last week on yet another incredible performance in Croke Park and well done to all who travelled to support. We would like to extend our sympathies to the family of the late Dominic Rooney on his untimely passing last week.
