St Nick’s U 12 Team Take East Cork U-12 “B” Championship Title
The St Nick’s U-12 ladies football team ended the year on a high when they won the U-12 ‘B’ East Cork Championship title for the first time last Saturday last in Glen Rovers GAA grounds
The rain never stopped for the hour and great credit is due to both sides as they served up some very entertaining football despite the weather.
Aghada started the brighter but the city girls soon found their feet taking some great scores and were it not for some fine goalkeeping by the Aghada keeper they would have been out of sight at the break.
It was end to end thrilling stuff as both teams played their hearts out but it was a goal from the penalty spot in the second period that sealed it for the city girls as they ran out deserving winners on a score line St Nick’s 2 07 Aghada 1-03
After being defeated in the East Cork league and County finals by near neighbours Rock Bán it was a super way to end the year for the St Nick’s girls.
Aghada also can look back on 2018 with a lot of pride as they won the East Cork league and County titles in ‘D’ grade so the future of East Cork Ladies Football looks bright with girls like these playing football
