U12A
Our u12A were away to our nearest Neighbors, Erin’s own, in Caherlag in Sunday last. A great game with glanmire winning out. Thanks to erins own for hosting and giving us a competitive game, also a thanks to all 30 glanmire girls who played and to the parents who supported all the girls from the line.
U14 feile
Congrats to our u14 team and management who qualified for the Cork feile, great football played in the short 10/15mins of each game. Well done and thanks to everyone who helped out by getting the pitch and facilities ready for hosting our section of the competition, thanks also to all the parents who provided us with sandwich and cake for all to enjoy, thanks to the girls Winnie, Deirdre, Ava, Kate, Niamh and Caragh who looked after us at the shop/tea station. Also thanks to our umpires and our ref Niall.
Cork team call up
Congrats to Another glanmire girl called up to the cork team, u14 goal keeper Anna Kelleher had been call onto to the cork football panel for the up and coming Munster Final against Kerry in a weeks time, we are delighted for Anna and all the hard work she puts in. Great work over the last few weeks by coaches and Mark Bryne with the dedicated goal keeper sessions.
U16A
Glanmire v Fermoy football league match last Thursday. This u16a East Cork football league match between Glanmire A and Fermoy A was played in dry conditions on Thursday last in Buck Learys Cross. The extremely heavy underfoot conditions made it difficult for both sets of players. We were playing with a slight wind advantage in the first half and took a while to settle. Fermoy played the better football for the first 10 minutes but failed to score. We began to play then and scored 1-09 to Fermoy’s 0-03 – to reach half time with a lead of 9 points. Fermoy played some good football in the second half (with the benefit of the wind), scoring 1-03 to our 0-06 leading into the last few minutes. Fermoy scored their second goal in the last few minutes to leave the final score 1-15 to 2-06 in favour of Glanmire.
