Enjoyable Night at Victory Social

The Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club proved to be a huge
success with a large crowd in attendance for the presentation of
medals & trophies to club players & mentors.

Special Guests on the night were Ciara O’sullivan 2016 & 2017 Cork
Ladies Football Captain & Jennifer Barry Dual Cork Camogie Player.
Both girls spoke very well to the girls of Bride Rovers,
congratulating the club on their success in 2016, encouraging the
players to continue to work hard & listen to their coaches and finally
wishing them every success in 2017.

The first team to be presented with their medals was the U14 East Cork
Plate Winners, each player was introduced by Aidan Hayes & received
their medal from Ciara O’Sullivan.
Next up was a presentation to Shauna Hayes on being part of the Cork
U14 Camogie team & also to Kathleen Kearney for being a Cork U21
Football selector. Next team to be presented their medals was the U15
Camogie team who won the summer league, they received their medals
from Jennifer Barry. A presentation was then made to Sally McCarthy
who played with Cork U15 Camogie team and also to May Barry & Tom
Mulcahy for the great service they have both given & continue to give
to Camogie in the club.

The U16 Ladies Footballers were next up, intoduced by Alan Murphy,
this team defeated Fermoy in the  East Cork U16 Final and were
delighted to receive their medals from Ciara O’Sullivan. Presentations
were then made to Katie Quirke, Sarah Murphy & Aine Keating for being
part of the Cork U16 Football team and to Siobhan O’Sullivan who
represented the club on the Cork U16 Camogie team.

The U12 Girls Football County Champions presentation of medals took
place, Manager Pat Barry introduced each of the 27 players, outlinging
the importance that each player had in their successful year. Apart
from the county success most of this group got to play in Croke Park &
Thurles throughout the year.

The club then made a presentation to Jennifer Barry following on her
achievements with Cork Camogie in 2016, Jennifer was part of both the
Cork Intermediate & Senior Camogie teams who reached both All_ireland
finals but lost out narrowly, Jennifer definitely has a huge future in
the game and we wish her well in 2017 with Cork. Also to receive an
award was Mossie O’Sullivan who was a selector with the Cork
Intermediate team.

Final team presentations was to the Minor Camogie County Champions
team, Oliver O Connor introduced the girls as they received their
county medals from Jennifer Barry. Final individual awards were
presented to Grace Culloty & Laura Quirke who were part of the
triumphant Cork Minor Ladies Football team who defeated Dublin in the
2016 All-Ireland Final played in Longford, this completed a 2-in-a-row
for Cork at this grade for the first time.

Once all the presentations were complete the party and dancing kicked
off & it certainly was a great night with lots of fun on the
dancefloor. Many thanks to all who atttended, thanks to Aisling Dunne
of The Rathcormac Inn, Margo for the Food from Fitzys Fast Food, DJ
Darren & the organising committee.

Special thanks to our photographer Basil O’Sullivan for getting those
all important shots. We will arrange to print photos and get a copy
for each girl.
