2016 Senior Championship Debut for Imokilly Senior Ladies
The senior ladies from East Cork under the banner of Imokilly take on West Cork senior ladies in the qualifier of the Cork county senior championship on Sunday evening in Dunmanway at 7 pm.
West Cork have the benefit of having a match already under their belt where they defeated a North Cork selection but Imokilly who have been training hard for the last few months should test them. When divisional teams are involved and the fact it is peak holiday season it is hard to predict who will be available.
West Cork should have a host of All Ireland medal holders available including Orla Finn & Sadhbh O Leary from Kinsale, all the Bantry girls including Emma Spillane as well as a good number from Bandon and others from around the division.
Imokilly are somewhat younger and unfortunately have a large number of very experienced prayers out with injuries but they also have the experienced Emma Farmer, Roisin Phelan, her sister Sorcha and Christine Moran from Aghada, Orlagh Farmer from Midleton as well as a large number of experienced Glanmire girls including Kate Hannon,& girls from Watergrasshill and Carrigtwohill amongst others so they should put up a strong battle
