The day began with Lisgoold/Leamlara playing against Cloyne. This was a tight game with both teams moving the ball well from end to end. As group 2 had less numbers Lisgoold/Leamlara played an extra game to make up the fixtures in this group. Youghal were the opposition, who got the better start in this game, getting a few scores early in the first half. Lisgoold/Leamlara got a better control of this game in the second half with some great defending, and managed to hold Youghal scoreless. Our next game was against St. Nicks. This game was very evenly contested. Both teams moved quickly creating many attacking chances making both keepers having to make some super saves in this game. Lisgoold/Leamlara scores came from Kalyssa (1-01), Eilis (1-0), Jess (0-1).
The final group game for Lisgoold/Leamlara was against Fermoy. Fermoy stormed into attack from the minute the game began and managed to get a string of scores early on. After a little bit of a regrouping Lisgoold/Leamlara defended excellently in the second half of this game with Fermoy only managing to score 3 points in this half. Lisgoold/Leamlara never gave throughout the game and fought right to the end. Final Score: 5-06 to 0-01. Lisgoold/Leamlara score: Kalyssa (0-01).

With all group games completed, Youghal qualified from group 1 and Fermoy from group 2 to play off in the final. Fermoy ran out winners with an impressive win.
This blitz was a great success and all teams who attended enjoyed the day. Once again we couldn’t be prouder of our girls – Lisgoold/Leamlara fought so hard and played so well in all games. They showed great team spirit, encouraging each other throughout and regardless of the scoreline, they never gave up and improved with each game. All of the teams showed great sportsmanship shaking hands after each game and Lisgoold/Leamlara in particular who stayed to the very end to watch the final. Well done to all the players who participated, to Youghal as runners up and to Fermoy winners of the tournament. A big Thank you to all who helped make the day possible, we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
