This is an historic occasion, the first ever East Cork Senior Ladies Football
Final. It’s the first time that 4 senior teams fielded in our division, the other
two teams being Bride Rovers and Imokilly. The potential is there for more of
our clubs to join the senior ranks. Over the last 5-6 years our clubs have
dominated in the county championships at under 12, 14 and 16 level. This has
laid the foundation for the current strength of our adult teams. Players from the
division are now very well represented on county teams from under 14 to
senior. Great credit is due to our clubs, the players, mentors and coaches for
raising the standard to the level that we will see today in our premier
showcase event.
