Last Friday our U10B travelled to play Fermoy u10B team. On the night we had a huge travelling party of over 25 girls all eager to play and show off all their skills. Fermoy on the night playing with their strongest team and with the advantage of heavy wind in the first half took control early and really piled on the scores.
Confidence was high going into the second half for Glanmire and with a rotating system to give all girls an opportunity to play Glanmire ladies never gave up the fight.Despite a really good performance from this young team we ended up on the losing side. All coaches are very proud at the way our Girls played on the night.
Impressive performances on the night came from,Emily Canny,Amy Grey,Leah Condon and Ellie Mulkerrins
Our juniors played Bride Rovers last Saturday in a very entertaining high scoring game in Rathcormac, Glanmire scored 17 points but conceded 4-10 to lose by 6. An East Cork final awaits for the Rathcormac side. We also had a number of girls involved with Imokilly last Sunday in the Senior East Cork champ, disappointingly we lost by 9 points to Fermoy but we will regroup for the county champ in July. Good Luck to our senior girls who will travel to Aghada tomorrow evening for an East Cork A semi final, the winners of Watergrasshill and Rockban await. We are also out on Thursday against Kilnameela in the County 13 a side league semi final, good luck to them.
East Cork Development Coaching U 13 and U 15 Ladies.
Coaching will begin shortly for U 13 and U 15 ladies which is a new initiative introduced by Cork Lgfa .This will result in each of the four Cork Divisions playing each other in a round Robin system culminating in representing Cork teams in the Munster Development fixtures in Mallow on 29th October and 5th November respectively. Glanmire would urge all girls who are U 14 and U 16 in 2017 to get involved and attend these Development Coaching Sessions. It is important that Glanmire girls are willing to participate in this Development to further their skills in Ladies Football.
A quick reminder to all coaches on fixing of matches, All fixtures in relation to all teams are made by both fixtures Secretaries in the County Board and East Cork Board namely Harry Harvey and Paul O’Sullivan. Glanmire like all other clubs are obliged to comply with the dates and venues made in relation to the fixtures, unless agreement of a change between the two participating clubs is agreed and notified to the relevant fixtures Secretary.
