Imokilly Senior Ladies’ Football Back In Action

The East Cork Ladies’ Football Board has decided to enter a team in the County senior championship and the East Cork Championship for 2016. This is a great oppertunity for girls from junior clubs to come together and play at senior level representing their division as Imokilly.

There are three senior teams already in the East Cork division with Fermoy , Bride Rovers and  Inch Rovers.and these will now be joined by Imokilly.
Under the watchful eye of manager Michael Hannon and his team of selectors they have had a number of training sessions in recent weeks which were well attended. If anyone is interested please contact your club as soon as possible.

Imokilly senior ladies had their first outing last Saturday when they took on the Cork minors in a sun drenched Glanmire venue. In a very fast paced game the Cork minors emerged winners but with a few more outings for the East Cork side, they should have a very productive championship summer. Strongest on the day were Aoife Heffernan and Orlagh Farmer for Imokilly and with some more Cork players to come into the squad they will be a force to be reckoned with. Thanks to Glanmire for hosting and Winifred Hannon and Cara Dinan for providing refreshments after. The management team hope to organize some more challenge matches over the next few weeks in preparation for the East Cork semi final V Fermoy on June 26th followed soon after by the County Senior championship where they will play Mid Cork in their opening game followed by games with West Cork and North Cork in the hope that they will qualify for the County quarter final.
We wish all the players and management the very best of luck over the coming months.
