U14 East Cork League
Carrigtwohill vs Lisgoold/Leamlara
Referee: Claire Murphy
Following 10 weeks of training and two cancelled fixtures due to pitch closures our U14 girls finally got their East Cork League campaign under way against our neighbours Carrigtwohill. We had 18 girls line out on the day which was a fantastic achievement considering that we were unable to field at U14 two years ago. Nicola/Edel/Phil our U14 Coaching staff and the girls have worked hard at training since January and this hard work paid off when they took to the pitch on Sunday Morning. The game began quite even as it always does when we come up against Carrigtwohill but we got the upper hand with some great passages of play and good movement being made on and off the ball. At half time we led by 2-4 to 0-2. In the second half we continued to apply pressure and created some lovely scores. Carrigtwohill came back with some nice scores of their own but we were too strong for them in the end. Full time 6-12 to 2-4. Everyone from 1-18 played their part in this victory, the positivity, team work and support was incredible.
Team: Mary-Ellen, Rachel B, Rhiona, Leanne, Roisin (1-0), Meabh, Dara (0-1), Emma, Ella (3-4) Eilis (1-0), Rachel M, Aoife (0-1), Clodagh (0-1), Claire, Kalyssa (1-3), Julianna, Aine (0-2).

Junior 13-a-Side B County
Clann na nGael vs Lisgoold/Leamlara
On Sunday Afternoon Our Junior Ladies and new management team of Stephen and Roy made the trip to Drimoleague to face Clann na nGael. This game was due to be played at home but as our pitch is still closed we travelled away. We found ourselves up against a young and fast Clann na nGael side and they immediately put some scores on the board. It took our girls awhile to get going but by then the game was over as a contest. As this was our first game coaches took the opportunity to try players in different positions and introduce some new players so this fixture was always going to be very much of a learning curve. There were a lot of positives to take from the game and the team and coaches will be working hard to improve on this performance. Final Score 4-14 to 1-3. We would like to thank Clann na nGael for providing refreshments.

Car Boot Sale
Thank you to everyone who brought items to the pitch for our Car Boot sale fundraiser. The response was incredible. This will be an on-going fundraiser throughout the year so feel free to contact us any time you have items which you would like to donate to the club to sell at Rathcormac Car Boot Sale. Thanks again.

Scór na bPaistí
Lisgoold/Leamlara Ladies Football got through to the East Cork Final of Scór na bPaistí in Watergrasshill. Figure Dancers – Chloe Collins, Gemma Collins, Molly Carroll, Caryn Kelleher, Ciara Duggan and Cara-Sue Clifford and Instrumental Music Chloe Collins. Both came first in their respective categories. Unfortunately, Caryn Kelleher was unsuccessful in the Solo Singing Category. The final was held in Watergrasshill over the weekend but unfortunately their Scór journey ended here. Well done to everyone who took part and for being great representatives of the Ladies Club.

Lisgoold/Leamlara St Patrick’s Day Parade.
We are delighted to be taking part in the Lisgoold/Leamlara St Patrick’s Day Parade. If anyone is available and willing to walk with us and represent the ladies club, we would appreciate it.
Congratulations to John Cronin on his call up to the Cork Senior Hurling team. He made his debut against Kilkenny on Saturday night. John is a great ambassador for Lisgoold and we wish him all the best.
