U-10 & U-12
The U 12 girls are back in action and with 10/11 rounds have lots of games to play The draws for the U 10 leagues were made recently and will kick in the weekend after next and will run right through the summer so lots to look forward to. Come along and support the younger girls please.

U-14
The U-14’s have been very busy the last two weeks with a number of league games and Féile taking place. First up was Rockbán in the league where the Aghada girls put in a wonderful display to come away with a victory, 48 hours on and we were at home to Bride Rovers again the sea side girls putting in a wonderful hours shift and came away with another victory. There was a break of a week then to the game with Glanmire in Rostellan. This was our toughest game to date and in fairness to the girls when things were going against them they dug deep and ground out a great victory to put us sitting on top of the league.
Next it was off to the East Cork section of the Féile in Rockbán on Sunday last (can I say at this time the spread of food and refreshments that they put on was second to none and was very much appreciated you can take a bow)
We were drawn in a group with Inch Rovers and Bride Rovers, our first game pitted us against Inch Rovers which was a ding dong affair and the game ended in a draw. Next up was Bride Rovers, a game we needed to win and the girls performed well and we came away with the win. This game put us on top of the group with the Bride Rovers v Inch Rovers game to come. Inch Rovers won but the sea side girls had the better scoring average and so it was onto the Semi Final with the runners up in group two who were the host club Rockbán. This was a good game of football with tit for tat scores but the Aghada girls pulled away in the end and it was onto the Final against Glanmire who had beaten Inch Rovers in the other semi final. Bodies were getting tired now but in fairness to our girls they dug deep and put in a massive effort after being down six points at one stage in the game to force the game to go to extra time. Extra time was always going to be an uphill battle as only having sixteen players available on the day and after an hour and half of matches the question would be, could we keep it going. We kept with them for the first half but Glanmire pulled away in the second period of extra time and ran out winners by three points after a fantastic game of football. Both teams now go on and represent East Cork in the County section of the Féile.

Juniors
Our Junior Ladies started the year with a narrow win over Bishopstown. This is the first time the Aghada girls have defeated the city ladies at junior grade well done to all concerned. The girls now play Glanmire in Rostellan on Thursday night next at 8 pm so all support will be most welcome.
