U14

And breathe, what a game!

What a display of teamwork

This was always going to be one of our toughest games in the league and we gave as good as we got. Superb work from 1-19.

Last year we lost our battles against St Colemans in the last 5 minutes of the games so this draw is a step in the right direction.

Final Score 4-3 to 4-3

after being down a point at half and heading into the breeze for the second half the ladies really showed what they were made of.

Scorers:

Jessica O Leary 2-1

Ava Guiney 0-2

EJ Cowley 1-0

Robyn Bernard 1-0

Rathpecan Next Sunday and U15 Feile on Monday means lots of game time ahead for all.

Junior Ladies

On a wet Saturday night our junior team took on a young Bandon side in round one of the league. Missing some regular players through holidays and injury Lisgoold looked to their younger players and they did not disappoint. Bandon started the brightest and got a point on the board from a free after 3 minutes. Lisgoold responded with lots of great link up play between Lainey and Siobhan but scores were hard to come by, until Aine H took a pass from Sinead and she fired a rocket into the top corner. Bandon responded with another point from a free and just before half time lisgoold scored a point from Lainey to send us in at the break 1.1 to 3 points.

A few positional changes and lisgoold started the 2nd half excellently. More scores from Sinead, Dara, Laura, Aine, Claire and Lainey saw the Lisgoold ladies take the points on a scoreline of 2.12 to 1.7

Best for lisgoold on the day were Aine, Lainey, Emma, Sinead and Rachel B

Special mention to Riona who stood in as a last minute goal keeper and made some fine saves throughout the game.

Our next game is this Sunday at 7pm at home v Knocknagree

Cork players

Best of luck to Aimee and Lainey who play v Kerry this Saturday in U16 Munster final in Mallow and Aine who plays against Tipperary in the Minor final Sunday at 2 in Mallow
