Our U14 Squad started their U14 Group B campaign against Na Phiarshig today in Lisgoold.
The game was tough and physical from the outset with Lisgoold having a large number of goal mouth opportunities, but luck was not on our side with posts being rattled and saves being made. Once we settled into the rhythm of the game, we started to knock over the scores and when the half time whistle blew a score line of 1-3 to 2-6 really was not a true reflection of evenness of the game at that point.
The second half as different affair with Lisgoold on top for most of the half and a fine defensive display keeping the Na Phiarshig attacks at bay. In the second half Lisgoold outscored Na Phiarshig 1-3 to 1-1.
A great effort all round but alas the final score line of 2-6 to 3-7 meant Na Phiarshig left with the points.
There were a lot of positives all round on the day for the Girls and Coaches to build on.
