Good Week for Cork Ladies’ Football
U14 All Ireland Final
Last Saturday week the Cork Ladies’ Football U 14 team created their own bit of history when the became the first winners of the platinum grade U 14 All Ireland championship, This replaced the old “A” grade championship last won by Cork in 2013. They comprehensively defeated Galway in a one sided final to finish off a great year. Due to the new format and rules of the competition 30 of the girls on the panel got to play in the final in total 59 girls played in the final which was great to see. Congratulations and very well done to all concerned a mighty achievement
U21 Munster Final
On Friday night the U 21 Munster final was played in a sun drenched Mallow GAA Complex. Cork faced old rivals Kerry in this one and like in the U 14 game it turned out to be a one sided affair with the girls in red totally dominating from start to finish
East Cork again were well represented with girls from Aghada Glanmire and Watergrasshill playing the side showed several changes from the earlier rounds due to Holidays. Well done again to all concerned again as Cork Ladies’ Football have completed a clean sweep in Munster winning the U 14, U 16, Minor, U21 and senior .
