St Colmans v Eirn’s Own (Minor League)

Last Monday night saw our minors play their second of the league campaign against a strong Eirn’s Own side.
While St Colmans opened the scoring, it was Eirn’s Own who were going to take control of the first half, scoring some excellent goals and points as they worked the ball up the field freely.
To be fair to our girls they are new to each other and are taking a while to get to know each other’s strengths. We re-grouped in the second half and came out playing a very more competitive brand of football. With Fay Cahill on fire at full forward we were to score 7 goals thru’ her dominant patch of play.
The game was played at a very fast pace and this seemed to suit us as we had other goal opportunities to score but Eirn’s Own had too many points from the first half and ended up winning by 7 points.
It was a very competitive game overall and going by the second half performance we seemed to be going in the right direction.
Well done to all involved as we look forward to our next game and get ready for the start of the championship.
