St Colmans 0-2 Midleton 2-13
On Sunday 23rd April, our U/16 girls played Midleton in a game that was sending us into the unknown having to try players in different positions.
The game being a home fixture was well attended by parents to support their children.
From the throwin Colmans attacked and could very easily have been 3 or 4 points up only for some wayward shooting in front of goal. Even though the score says we were well beaten this was not the case for those of us that were there. When Midleton attacked they were very accurate in front of goal knocking over points from 25 to 30 yards out. At Half time Noel Murray had a few encouraging words to say to the girls and they started the second exactly like the first attacking Midleton and taking full control of play. This was to go on for long periods of the game and again poor shooting in front of goal cost us dearly. The girls played with their hearts for the full 60 minutes knowing that with a bit more training they are not too far away from challenging for the Championship when it comes around.
Well done to all involved especially Noel Murray and Celie Roche.
