Mixed Fortunes for East Cork Ladies’ Football teams in County Championships

We are certainly at the business end of the Ladies Football calendar with many County championships being played over last weekend

In the senior B Championship play off Fermoy had a comprehensive win over Clonakilty on Sunday last
Watergrasshill went down to Dromtarriffe by a single goal in the Junior A semi final but still have the East Cork final v Aghada to look forward to later in the season.

U 16
Aghada defeated Glanmire in the U 16 A semi final by two points in a cracker of a game
Inch Rovers were defeated by O Donovan Rossa in the U 16 B s/f
and Fermoy were defeated by a very strong St Coloms side in the U 16 C semi final.
Carrigtwohill had a super win over Castlehaven in the County U 16 D s/f winning by just a single point

U 12
Traditionally East Cork representatives are strong in the county championships at U 12 and have a great record over the last few years and several clubs had victories in the quarter finals over the weekend

Both Glanmire and Youghal advanced with easy wins in the U 12 “A”

In the B championship Fermoy had a big win over Knocknagree and Rockbán were defeated by Clonakilty

In the C championship Aghada advance after a strong win over Castlehaven but Lisgoold were defeated by a very strong Donoughmore side who are favourites at this grade

In the D county championship Bride Rovers had a good win over Rosscarbery and Inch Rovers were defeated by Bishopstown

U 12 County semi finals will take place next weekend with finals the following weekend

U 13 Development training continues this Wednesday in Mayfield GAA grounds 6 30 to 8 pm

Interdivisional matches Imokilly v North Cork will take place in Killeagh GAA grounds on Sunday next Sept 11th at 2pm

Congratulations to the Cork Ladies Football senior ladies on their victory over Monaghan on Saturday night last to reach the All Ireland final on September 25th .A special congrats to all the Ladies from East Cork clubs.
