JUNIOR NEWS

Our Junior Panel were out last night Vs Aragadan Rovers in Semi Final county League @ Mayfield @8pm , Inch started very well and after some great passages of play by all the team we secured a fine lead going into half time 3-6 to 0-2 pts , enough done defend in 2nd half we thought..Aragadan had other ideas and put their pin to the collar and at full time were a goal ahead of us but because of all stoppages nearly 10mins extra time was added and it’s in this period our girls rose to the challenge and scored 3 pts our only scores in second half to level the game , it showed the determination & strength of character of each member of panel so it was up to the Referee who had to make a phone call to see if extra time had to be played and sure enough it was , Inch with tired bodies were up for it and Aragadan wanted another day but the Ref stood firm regardless of the time and no lights an extra 20mins to decide who made it to the final , it was tough battle but we were the better side in extra time even with only a panel of 15 for. 13 aside you had no time for injuries or the like the holy water worked wonders , you didn’t get time for a breather such was the pace of the game , it was even more exciting watching it from stand , more exciting than Cork & Dublin across the city , I’d say Dublin were tucked up in bed before ours was over , the final whistle was blown after 80 mins of football at 10:30 pm and Inch were the winners after Somme battle , well done to one and all ye were incredible ladies all of ye & well. Done to mentors Bryan, Declan & Thomas final Score Inch 5-16 to 5-9 , Scorers Noelle O Donavan 3-10 Catriona Scannell 1-3 & Annmarie Walsh 1-3 Roll on County Final , thanks to all the supporters who travelled , it was certainly a game to remember , We are into a county League Final but dont know yet who our opponents are ….
