Lisgoold/Leamlara St Patrick’s Day Parade
Thank you to everyone who walked with the ladies’ club for this year’s St Patricks Day Parade. We chose the theme of Give Respect-Get Respect as this initiative ensures that Gaelic games are promoted and played in a positive, fair and enjoyable manner where players, coaches, spectators and referees give and get respect from each other.

Our U12 girls (with David and Maeve) travelled to Fermoy on Saturday 20th of March for their first game of the season. We were up against a strong Fermoy A side who stormed out of the blocks with some early scores. We scored 1 point from a free. Halftime score Fermoy A 4-4 Lisgoold/Leamlara 0-1. We knew it was an uphill battle from here but our girl’s heads didn’t drop and they continued to give it their all, with some great blocking, running and chances created. We scored 2-3 in the second half which was a great improvement and showed great character. Full Time Score Fermoy 9-6 Lisgoold/Leamlara 2-4

Junior County League 13-a-Side B Round 2

Ballinora vs Lisgoold/Leamlara
Venue: Ballinora Gaa
Referee: AJ Cronin
Saturday 26th of March Our Junior ladies travelled to Ballinora for the second of their County League Fixtures. Spirits were high among the girls when we met at Lisgoold Gaa and travelled together to Ballinora. Despite the poor weather 14 girl togged out in the blue/gold (some of whom were carrying injuries) and surprisingly the pitch was in good condition considering the amount of rain over the course of the morning. Our Vice-Captain Kelly McCann lead the team out. In the first half we found it hard to get going and retain possession while Ballinora hit their stride rather quickly, put a lot of scores on the board. It showed that we had not been able to train on a pitch so far this year as this led to lots of tired legs at half time. We improved in the second half and made some positional changes but again we had left too much to do. FT Score 2-18 to 0-2 (Scorers: Edel Cronin and Donna McCann) Team: Rebecca Coleman, Sarah Murphy, Frances Connery, Rachel McCann, Aoife Roche, Donna McCann, Fiona Murphy, Kelly McCann, Sara O Shea, Kelsey Devine, Edel Cronin, Anne-Marie Hegarty, Aoibhe Savage, Elaine Cullinane.
