INCH ROVERS LADIES FOOTBALL NEWS

U12 NEWS

Our First under 12 game against Na Piarsigh today at 3 in Killeagh. A bitterly cold day but our girls kept warm and Na Piarsigh very quite for the first half. Some great performances from our 12 year old girls meant Inch where well on top by half time. The girls stayed focus and won out despite the coaches moving some players around and experimenting with players in new positions. A game well played by all with very few frees we will improve some handling mistakes to work on in the coming weeks. Very well done to all the girls. Sheila & Tomas

U16 NEWS
REPORT BY JAMES MAUNSELL
Inch rovers u16 played first game of the season in youghal today v midleton. Inch started very well with a few scores from Kelly Steele and Shannon Cremin before Joanna keniry finished to the back of the net . However midleton came right back into the match with a few fine scores of their own . Inch were very unlucky to lose aoife o neill to injury. Jane Sexton , who was having a fine game in the half back line , hurt her knee and left the field of play. Aoibhe Lee joined the fray and put in a great performance at corner forward. The rest of the first half was a ding dong affair with midleton leading by 2 at the break 4g3points to 3g4points. U 14 Ciara Steele joined for the second half and put on a fine display at half back. The second half started well for both teams with both sides trading points. With 12 mins and Megan murphy now leading the attack in fine style and Shannons magic began to shine through. Aoife Higgins orla Cowhig Joanna and Grainne landers won 4 of midletons kick outs in a row and created 4 goals and scoring all 4. The back were outstanding in the second half holding midleton to 4 points. Niamh Molloy Caoimhe Barry Emma Cosgrave aoibhe Joyce and Marcia Maunsell were all on top of their game. The game finished inch 7 goals 7 points to4 goals 7 points . It was a tough game without rose goggin due to injury and alanah Budds to illness but the girls and as Aoibhe Joyce said at half time “you got to want it” and they showed this in the second half. Great win. Thanks to Chris for setting up fields and tomas goggin for stepping in to ref. No training this Thursday due to St Patrick’s day we will train again next weekend. Sheila and James
