Cork U-16 Ladies Outclassed By Kerry in Munster Football Final

Cork u 16 ladies were compressively defeated by a strong, well drilled and skilful Kerry side in the U 16 Munster Ladies’ football Munster final played in Castletown Roche on Saturday last.
Last years U 14 All Ireland winners combined with a good U 14 side narrowly beaten by Cork in 2013 was the basis of this Kerry outfit.
From the outset the Kerry girls laid down a marker as they had the ball over the bar in seconds and after this Cork were chasing shadows. The Cork girls were outclassed in almost all quarters and the Kerry girls led by five points at the break. To be fair this could have been much different as Cork did hit the crossbar late in the first half and also in the second period from a penalty but it was not to be.
Kerry however appeared to be hungrier for the ball as they chased and hunted in packs. Cork to their credit never gave up and the introduction of good reserves freshened things up. But try as they might they had no answer to the Kerry Ladies who were excellent on the day and ran out easy winners on a score line 3-12 to 1-06. Kerry now go on to the all Ireland series and who could bet against them based on their performance on Saturday last. Well done to the East Cork representatives Grace Culloty (Bride Rovers), Kate Hannon ( Glanmire), Christine Moran (Aghada), Rose Goggin (Inch Rovers),Sarah Murphy (Bride Rovers), Cliona Cronin ( Watergrasshill), & Fay Cahill (Cloyne)

Cork Senior Ladies Have to do it all again in the National League Final
The Tesco sponsored Senior Ladies Football National League Final took place in Parnell Park also on Saturday .This was a very exciting game of ladies football played at a hectic pace.
Galway showed they are a force to be reckoned with in 2015 and showed terrific skill over the course of the hour but as we all know by now Cork never give up and must have thought it was in the bag with a very late goal but Galway had one more attack and forced a draw in the dying seconds and the sides will have to do it all again next Saturday. Well done to both teams for a very entertaining hour show casing what a super game Ladies football is.
