Last Monday 19th May it was the turn of the U10 Girls to start their 2014 league campaign. First up was St Coleman’s all the way from Shanagarry/Garryvoe. The venue for this game was our summer residence that is the Midleton Rugby Club grounds. This match was a pleasure to watch and both sets of supporters mainly made up of very enthusiastic parents who were all on their best behaviour got behind their teams and encouraged the girls right up to the final whistle. Both teams responded in spades to their supporters and gave it their all. To match the numbers both teams lined out with 11 a side. Midleton had 14 girls to choose from on the night and all got good game time with the new girls playing very well.  The final score was 9-2 to 4-7 in Midleton’s favour.  To be fair to St Coleman’s some of their points could have easily been goals and some of Midleton’s goals could have easily been points so was a much tighter game than the score suggests.

Team: Jill Connaughton, Aoife Mulcahy, Aisling McCarthy, Rachael O’Meara, Elise Hallogan, Isobel Kelly, Ellie Collins, Lilly Clifton, Amy Murray, Rebecca Crowley, Jenny Meade, Rachael Quirke, Eva Butler, Aoife Fitzgerald.

Next up for Midleton U10’s will be games against, Inch Rovers, Youghal, Cloyne, Aghada, Glanmire. These games will be played over the next number of weeks
