Fermoy defeat Rockban
We played our second league game on Saturday away to Rockban. On a wet and windy day it took us awhile to get going. Lorna kicked a couple of points from mid-field and the backs were well on top. At half time we led by 14 points to 2. In the second half the forward got well on top and we played some good football at times and we ran out easy winners.

Fermoy lose out to Inch Rovers
Fermoys second team played their first league match on Sunday morning against Inch first team. We had a great turn out with 20 players togged out and the girls put on a great display. In the first half we were unlucky not to score more missing some chances. Inch led at half time 1-1 0-1. At the start of the second half we started to take our scores and with 7 minutes to go we led by a point. However, we conceded a soft goal and Inch held out to win the game. We would like to thank Grange for the use of their pitch.

U14 Tigers League
Fermoy began their league campaign last Saturday to Aghada. Damp and cold conditions meant the girls were slow to get into their stride, however after a couple of wide’s, points by Emma and Laura settled the team and two goals by Anna Dunne on the eleventh and twelfth minute after well worked moves in the forward line had Fermoy in total control. Aghada however began to gather momentum and mid way through the half Caoimhe Moore had to pull off a great save from which Agahda secured a point. The remainder of the half saw Fermoy play some great football with clever passing and support play would yield further four points from play, three from Emma and one from Sarah Kenny who was outstanding in the corner by being involved in most of Fermoy’s scores. To lead at half time was very rewarding but Aghada had other ideas for the second half and would dominate for long periods pegging back the lead on a regular basis and when they goaled midway through the half the lead was halved, however a breakaway move up the right wing was finished in the back of Aghada’s net by Laura and this eased the nervous a little. Aghada to their credit kept adding on the points, but the game was eventually put out of reach for them when Eve Buckley scored a great goal with a couple of minutes remaining. This was a tough opening game and the girls did great to come away with the win.
