U 12 East Cork Ladies ‘Football Leagues Completed

Well done to all teams who contested the U 12 East Cork Ladies’ Football league finals over the weekend.

U 12 “A” Final Glanmire v Youghal 2-04 0-02
Glanmire defeated Youghal in the “A” final which was played in Glanmire on Sunday morning. Two goals from Heather McNamara saw them over the line and try as Youghal might they just could not penetrate a good back line led be Liz Twomey at full back and Saoirse Desmond and Orla Roche Final score Glanmire 2-04 to Youghal 0-02. East Cork Ladies Football Board sec Philip Harrington presented the trophy to the two McAllen sisters Aishling and Olivia.Best of luck to both sides who will represent East Cork in the U 12 “A”county championship next weekend.

U 12 B” Final Inch Rovers V Fermoy 1-04 2-02
Inch Rovers hosted Fermoy also on Sunday and what a super game of Football this was. End to end football with both sides on top of their game and the outcome in doubt right until the final whistle. The Fermoy girls snatched it by the narrowest of margins 2-02 to 1-04 but well done to both teams for a great game of ladies football. Best of luck to both sides who will represent East Cork in the U 12 “B”county championship next weekend

U 12 “C” Final Watergrasshill V Na Piarsaigh 1-06 0-04
In the C final Watergrasshill defeated Na Piarsaigh in another good game of football held in Watergrasshill on Saturday evening. Both teams played some lovely football and the Hill converted a penalty to see them over the line on a score line 1-06 to 0-04. Best of luck to both sides who will represent East Cork in the U 12 “C”county championship next weekend.

U-12 “D” Final
Aghada v Erin’s Own 3-06 2-01
Aghada U 12 girls were victorious over Erin’s Own in the “D” final played in lovely sunny conditions in Rostellan on Sunday evening. Aghada started strongly with star forward Ciara Ryan scoring three goals and a point in the opening fifteen minutes. Erin’s Own rallied in the second period scoring two goals of their own but try as they might they could not break down a very strong Aghada back line that kept them at bay to take the title on a score line 3-06 to 2-01. Best of luck to both sides who will represent East Cork in the U 12 “D”county championship next weekend.
