Two East Cork Junior Ladies’ Football Titles Decided

Congratulations Glanmire and Erin’s Own Winners of the East Cork Ladies Football Junior “B” & “C” Championships for 2015

Erin’s Own Junior Ladies Take East Cork “C” Title

The Junior Footballers of Erin’s Own Ladies’ Football club won the East Cork Junior “C” Championship when they defeated Lisgoold in the final played at Caherlag on Friday evening last. Although the evening was dull the football was far from dull with both teams putting in a great effort and played some lovely entertaining football. Erin’s Own who were defeated in the county 13 a side county final last year showed greater composure and worked the ball well and were patient until the scores came. Lisgoold also had some lovely passing movements but they were guilty of some poor finishing especially in the second period and to their credit never gave up and battled hard until the final whistle. In the end it was the Erin’s Own Ladies who were victorious and ran out easy and deserving winners on a score line of 2-12 to 1-02.

Glanmire Ladies Outclass Bride Rovers in Junior “B” East Cork Final

Glanmire added to their county league success when they took the East Cork Junior “B” Championship title for 2015 with a comprehensive easy win over Bride Rovers in the final played in Glanmire on Monday night last. A goal early in each half from Emily O’ Callaghan and Amy Turpin sealed this victory and the Glanmire ladies clocked up a total of eighteen points also. Glanmire last won this championship in 2011 and will put some pressures on clubs in the A championship next season. Well done to Bride Rovers second team for reaching the final as this shows the depth of talent in the club. Final score Glanmire 2-18 Bride Rovers 0-05. This leaves only the “A” championship to be completed with Aghada and Watergrasshill to play in one semi final and Rockbán awaiting the winners in the final
