U-14 “A” County Final Carrigtwohill @ 730 pm Tonight Friday 19th June
Glanmire should be favourites tonight when they line out against Carrigaline in the U-14 County “A” Final in Carrigtwohill at 7 30 pm. The East Cork side already won the county Féile title for the second year running defeating the Carrigaline girls in the semi final of that competition and will represent the county in the National Féile finals which takes place in Kildare next Saturday week. In the quarter final of the county championship the Glanmire girls had an easy victory over Nemo Rangers but in the semi final they were fortunate to defeate Aghada by a single point in a super game of football which could have gone either way.
Carrigaline defeated O’Donovan Rossa in the county quarter final and defeated a good Kinsale side in the second semi final. This side really knows how to play as they amassed a lot of scores in both games and showed how to take points from all angles near and far so the Glanmire backs will have to be on top form to keep the girls from south of the Lee at bay. Both sides have a number of girls on the Cork U 14 Panel so this will be a very interesting battle.
U-14 “B” County Final Redmonds @ 7 30 pm Tonight Friday 19th June
Rockbán will represent the East Cork division in the U 14 “B” final V Bandon also tonight Friday in a game to be played in Redmonds GAA grounds. The Rockbán Ladies were super in their semi final game when they comprehensively defeated St Vals and are eager to go one better than last year and lift the trophy in 2015.
Bandon on the other hand defeated Courcey Rovers by a two goal winning margin and this also was a fine game of football.
The U 14 county championships have been a great success and if you want to see some fast free flowing action in a game of football head for Carrigtwohill or Redmonds tonight Friday for 7 30.
Best of Luck to both Glanmire and Rockbán in the U 14 “A” & “B” finals..
