Cork Minors Edge Out Tipperary to Take Munster “A” Crown in a Classic
Cork Minor Ladies Footballers played the game of their lives when they just got the better of a super Tipperary side in the Munster Final played in Cahir on Monday last.
This undoubtedly was the game of the year so far in 2015 as both sides played wonderful, exciting football in front of a large crowd. End to end stuff just does not describe this epic encounter.
Cork raced into a four point lead but were rocked with two goals and two points from the Tipp Ladies mid way through the first period and despite finishing strongly they trailed 2-07 to 1-07 at the break.
The second half was outstanding with the lead changing on several occasions Two goals from Emer Scally kept them in touch and another from Kate Leneghan saw them lead by a single point with two minutes to go but Cork managed one more goal from the boot of Eirne Ni Dheasmhuínigh to see them take the Munster Minor title on a score line 4-13 to 2-15 . East Cork Girls Involved Hannah Looney (Aghada ) Niamh Murphy (Erin’s Own), Caoilinn Hickey (Lisgoold), Shauna Cronin (Mayfield), Jessicia Tonks and Grainne Collins (Fermoy)
Well to all concerned.
