Cork U-14 Ladies Regain Munster Title
Cork 5-14 Waterford 0-07
Cork U-14 Ladies regained the Munster “A” U-14 Title with a comprehensive win over Waterford at a rain drenched Castletown Roche venue on Saturday last. This tie was eagerly awaited as both teams had good wins in their respective semi-finals played at the same venue just a few weeks ago. Both sides played some tremendous football in the opening twenty minutes and were level at this stage. Waterford will rue all the chances they missed as this could have been a much different game but a blistering seven minute period just before half time saw Cork score a goal and six points and really put them in the driving seat. Despite playing against rain and wind in the second period Cork dominated almost in all quarters scoring a further four goals to run out easy winners on a score line Cork 5-14 Waterford 0-07
East Cork were well represented with Sara Murphy (Bride Rovers) Cira Irwin ( Erin’s Own), Eve Mullins (Rockbán), K O’ Connor, E Barker, A O’Mahony (Glanmire), J Whelan (Rockbán) and Captain Katie Quirke (Bride Rovers) who was outstanding being awarded the player of the match.
