JUNIOR LADIES
Last Friday night the junior ladies had their first outing of the year. We travelled to kildorrey to take on the home side in a challenge match. Our opponents are playing at a grade higher than us and made the early running. Once we settled into the game we began to string together a few moves up the field and created a few scoring opportunities. The positive attitude and never give in approach was clearly evident from the girls despite being up against a good kildorrey team. In the second half we started brightly and were unfortunate not to score a goal or two. As the game wore on it was clear to see we were becoming more comfortable and composed on the ball and were rewarded with a couple of excellently worked team scores. The high work rate, good defending and team work was excellent throughout the whole game. The girls can look forward to a good year if they continue in this vain. Training continues on Friday nights and with the league starting we are looking forward to good year.
UNDER 14S
Our U14s are progressing nicely as the year is moving on. We are getting close to full attendances at all our training sessions, and great co-operation from parents with training and jersey washing rotas. We played our 3rd match this week, at home against Fermoy. The girls played out of their skins, remarkable to see such improvement in a short space of time, the team have gelled really well and gave a really solid display in ideal conditions, great to see the pitch in such good condition also. Lisgoold were well deserved winners, 5.7 to 2. 3.
