Congratulations Fermoy Junior “A” County Champions

Well done to Fermoy who won the Junior “A” county title last Saturday when they defeated a strong Midleton team in the final played in Mayfield.
This game was all but decided in the opening quarter as Fermoy scored three goals and two points without reply. Midleton took twenty four minutes to get on the score sheet and really should have been equal with Fermoy if their shooting was on target as it was the Fermoy ladies led comfortably at the break.
Whatever was said to the Midleton Ladies at half time worked wonders as they came out all guns blazing and had the ball in the net after only twenty seconds to narrow the gap. Fermoy had to dig very deep to keep a very determined Midleton outfit at bay .Both sides exchanged goals and Midleton were the stronger in the second half scoring some good points but the experience of the Fermoy ladies and the memory of last years loss saw them victorious on a score line 4-04 to 2-06 Well done to both teams for a very entertaining game.
