CARRIGTWOHILL 1-06 CLOYNE 0-07
Carrigtwohill at 2.30 pm was the venue and time for the long overdue East Cork U-14D Final. Carrigtwohill and Cloyne played out a great game on a fine day which was lucky so late in the season. The sides could not be separated at half time at four points each. Cloyne opened the scoring with two points but Carrig levelled things with two fine points of their own. Both sides traded points up to half time , the low score indicating the caginess and evenness of both sides.
The second half continued as the first with Cloyne edging ahead by two points but when Carrig struck with a goal the game had turned in their favour, 1-04 to 6 points. Carrig knocked over another point to give them a two point lead. Cloyne never gave up and were unlucky not to pull a goal of their own back. They did manage another point but Carrig matched that to leave it 1-06 to 7 points at the final whistle.
Well done to both sides for a thoroughly entertaining game and thanks to referee Maurice Mulcahy on a fine job on the day.
