Watergrasshill 4-10  Lisgoold 3-09

Referee: Tomás Goggin

This was a game that epitomised Ladies Gaelic Football with some great football played, some well taken scores and not a hint of cynicism from two evenly matched sides.

Played under lights in Killeagh it was Watergrasshill that got on the score-sheet first with a goal. The “Hill” dominated the opening 5 minutes and were soon 2 goals to no score up before Lisgoold knocked over their first point. Lisgoold asserted themselves in the game from then on and both sides  swapped scores to leave it 2-06 to 1-05 at half time in favour of Watergrasshill.

In the second half the Hill were perhaps the stronger side and well into the game had a lead of 9 points at one stage. Lisgoold may rue the missed chances in front of goal but never gave up to their credit and towards the end of the game had narrowed the margin again to just a single goal. Lisgoold battled hard to find the equaliser but it was the hill who got the final point that ensured them victory.

Well done to both sides for a truly entertaining game of football.
