Well done and Congratulations Fermoy on winning the U-14 ‘B’ County Title

Fermoy took the U-14 “B” Ladies Football County Title on Friday 28th June in Watergrasshill when they beat Douglas by two points. The East Cork Representatives showed great grit and courage in overcoming Douglas in a tremendous county final. Fermoy showed they had a lot of work done as they played great team football for the hour. Their forwards worked cohesively and effectively in the first half scoring 3-02 and when they turned with the breeze in their faces the backs were outstanding soaking up massive pressure from the Douglas forwards.
Fermoy were fortunate late in the second half when Douglas hit the upright with the goal at their mercy but full credit to the East Cork girls they immediately worked the ball up the field from the rebound to score a decisive goal and followed this with a point to break the heart of Douglas.
The city side try as they might, could not break down the Fermoy defence who forced them to shoot seven wides in the last ten minutes.
Congratulations to all the Fermoy girls and their team management who did East Cork proud.

Glanmire Contest U-14 “A” County Final
Glanmire contested the U 14 “A” final on the previous Wednesday night in Passage but narrowly went down to a very good St Vals team in another great and exciting final. Football was of the highest calibre with both sides giving it their all.
Well done to all the East Cork teams who participated in the U-14 County championship.
