Junior County League.
Fermoy 3.7  Watergrasshill 1.8.
Last Sunday on a bitterly cold day, we played our second league match and came out on top in a very tight game.
In the first half we played against a strong breeze and had to withstand constant Watergrasshill pressure.
Our Full back line saw plenty of ball in this half and responded very well.
Outside them our half back line worked very hard to get ball to our forwards, but at times it was coming back just as quick.
Just before the break we were awarded a penalty and a very excited Aoife O’Sullivan rushed forward to take it, and dispatched it with ease
to leave the half time score 1.5 to 1.1 in favour of Watergrasshill.
In the second half with the wind to our backs we enjoyed far more possession, and our forwards made much better use of the ball
and eventually we ran out convincing winners.
Both clubs benefitted from the game and thanks to Watergrasshill for the game and the use of the pitch.
Well done to all the girls who made huge sacrafices to be there on the day.  Notable featue of the day was Niamh Dalys first start at Junior level and of course Niamh celebrated by scoing a goal.  Well done Niamh.
