U16GFL Youghal 1-4 Inch Rovers 3-6
This was Youghal’s second leauge game of the year and we were up against local rivals Inch. It was a fine day and like the weather we got a fine display of football. Both teams went for it from the off but it was Inch who got of to the brighter start with two early scores, but then it was the turn of the the Youghal girls to get on the score board and before long youghal had overtaken Inch. This game was played at a high tempo and some fine periods of play was on show. The game would of been all square at half time only for a defensive mistake by Youghal just before the break that Inch took full advantage to leave the scoreline at half time 1-3 to 2-3 in Inch’s favor.
The second half saw a more determent Inch side take more control of this game, and were putting a lot of pressure on the Youghal defence. As the half went on Inch looked the fitter side and were picking off some fine scores. It must be said only that for our six backs and keeper who put in a super shift the score line could have been much higher in Inch’s favor.
