The Better Together Campaign in Partnership with Mental Health Ireland, LGFA and Youghal Ladies Football

What is the better together Campaign? 

Better Together is a nationwide campaign which aims to make Ireland a better place to live by building support for charities, clubs and associations across the country.

How did youghal Ladies football become involved in this campaign?

Last April Youghal Ladies Football club hosted an evening at the club in which Mental Health Ireland and LGFA (Ladies Gaelic Football Association) were invited to participate.  The evening was to bring together the wider community and promote the Building Resilience theme with guest speaker Amy O Shea Cork Captain 2011. With over 100 delegates and representing organizations it was deemed a huge success. Mental Health Ireland suggested we enter this competition to highlight the success of the evening but also the club.

What was involved?

 A 2 min DVD was required to capture the evening but which tells the story “why we are better together”. In fact we had to edit 2 and half hours into 2 mins so from the start it was very difficult.

Why is Youghal Ladies football better together with mental health Ireland and with LGFA?

The short DVD highlights the principals of togetherness! We are working hard through the medium of Ladies Gaelic football in assisting young Females to have a positive view of themselves & community. By providing the space to be involved in every aspect of the club regardless of ability is the corner stone of all this.
