Aghada 1-2 Erin’s Own 0-1

The U-10 “B” East Cork Ladies Football final was played in Rostellan at 11.30am on Sunday morning last Sept 23rd. Having played each other earlier in the competition this was always going to be a cracker and that is what it turned out to be.

The extremely large crowd were treated to the very best young girls had to offer with end to end football and great skill and determination shown by both teams.

The scoring was low but the football was of the highest quality and the excitement was palpable. The teams were level at half time with only one point a piece.  The Aghada manager made a number of changes during the break and these seemed to give a new lease of life to the sea side girls.

Both sets of backs came under tremendous pressure in the second half but it was Aghada who eventually made the break through with a great goal and a point from star forward Mary Leahy. Try as they might Erin’s Own could not get through for a score and Aghada finished the stronger winning on a score line of  Aghada 1-2  Erin’s Own 0-1.
