Sunday evening 20th May we played Midleton in the A league final in Midleton in what turned out to be a very tough encounter. Fermoy began the game full of running both on and off the ball, with some great passing movements and Fermoy got there reward after 5 minutes with a brilliantly goal scored. Fermoy followed that with 3 successful pts and another goal. Midleton never lay down and came back at Fermoy with 2 goals and 2 pts. The Fermoy girls stepped up the anti again and scored 3 more goals which left the score at half time 5-3 to 2-3. We knew Midleton would come out strong in the second half but the Fermoy girls never left this happen, Fermoy scored first in the second half with another goal and 2 pts, the Fermoy girls kept up this intensity and continued this right through till the final whistle. It would be fair to say that all girls including subs when called upon put in a huge effort and played some outstanding football… Final score Fermoy 7-8 and Midleton 2-6…… A huge thank you to all that travelled to the game and of course a big thank you to the mentors for their hard work and dedication.
