In the A final of the U-14 East Cork league Glanmire and Fermoy took to the stage at The Pike field in Riverstown last night 17th May. Fermoy showed their intent from the off but Glanmire showed their mettle and after 5mins it was still scoreless. Fermoy eventually opened the scoring shortly after with some well taken scores to give them the upper hand and by half time they had a comfortable lead Glanmire started strong in the second half and pushed hard to peg back the deficit but could not break through a strong Fermoy defence. Fermoy soaked up the early pressure from Glanmire to resume where they left off in the first half. Fermoy always looked comfortable from goal to Full forward line with great passages of play, strength and awareness on the ball. glanmire for their part never gave up and made a late rally banging in some fine goals. In the end however Fermoy ran out comfortable winners to lift the trophy. Fremoy now advance onto the County A semi finals. Thanks to Referee Kieran Keane for officiating on the night
